FAQs

How do you pronounce iroiro?
It's pronounced "ee-ro" "ee-ro".

Do I need to bleach my hair before I color it?
That depends on your original hair color and the color of the dye. Semi-permanent hair dyes do not apply well to dark hair. If you have dark hair, you may have to bleach your hair for an optimum result. If you have a naturally light color, you may not have to bleach your hair. We suggest testing on a few strands of hair.

Can I dye my own hair?
We encourage everyone to seek professional assistance for optimum results; however, please follow our step-by-step directions if you decide to dye your own hair.

Do colors on labels represent exact colors?
No, the colors you see on our labels are similar, but they are not the exact colors of our hair dyes. Please refer to our product page for images of hair swatches for matching colors.

What is Iroiro Color Liberator?
This product can be mixed with other colors and applied to your hair to bring out brilliant pastel colors. Before applying, we suggest that you mix a small amount of DIY Color Liberator and other colors to find your desired pastel colors.

How long do the colors last?
By definition, semi-permanent hair dyes last for 6 to 12 washes. Hair colors may or may not last for more than 12 washes depending on hair type, the color of the semi-permanent hair dye, and the type of shampoo and conditioner.  That being said according to many of our happy customers our colors last too long, at least a month if not two months using sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner with cool water.

How do I know if I am allergic to your products?
Although our products are based on natural ingredients and are considered safe to use, we suggest that you test them on a small area of your skin, such as the inner fold of your elbow. Wash the selected area well. Apply a small amount of dye and leave it for 24 hours. Examine carefully and if you notice any skin irritation, please do not use the product under any circumstances. Please contact your doctor.
